Constipation is one of the most uncomfortable situations a person can experience, especially when it comes after eating plenty of heavy foods or during stressful moments. Many people feel relief simply by taking a short 15–20-minute walk after meals. It reduces stress hormones and activates the muscles around the abdomen, creating natural pressure for easier bowel movement.
Some households use natural oils to ease constipation. Taking a small spoon of olive oil, coconut oil, or even groundnut oil in the morning helps lubricate the intestines. This makes stool softer and easier to pass. Though simple, this traditional practice has been used for generations.
Another traditional remedy is hot baths or warm compresses on the stomach. Warmth relaxes the abdominal muscles and reduces tension caused by stress. When muscles loosen, the digestive system becomes more active.
Finally, reducing stress is key. Traditional communities believe in sitting quietly, breathing slowly, or spending a few minutes in nature to calm the body. A relaxed mind allows the stomach to function normally again.
