The business picked well and we began purchasing new stocks . I did the best marketing which promoted the business to it’s maximum sales. Luckily I was in my final semester so on November 2007 I was now full time in the business activities. I was the one travelling for the purchases to Nairobi and Mombasa.
I had full responsibility of the business which made me enjoy the working environment. I was responsible for all debts of the business, ensure all written cheques go through. It made me learn the importance of brokers in the business venture. Brokers seems to increase business expenses but they are so beneficial to reduce pressure on the bargain for the better prices. A broker works in benefits of the buyer.
The business grew up and small couldn’t handle the stocks so we had to shift for a big shop . I had done enough research for the shifting and we acquired a better place but we didn’t realise the old shop which we maintained to be store .
It was a big shop for general merchant’s. I had to propose additional of staffs which was done on time. Purchasing had to be done twice per month,sales had grown and multiply the number of regular clients became huge . Maintaining became a task .
I had a big task on price . I had to differentiate between the wholesalers and retailers. This helped for stock turnover and harmonising the market. We had sales of 3 million per month. We had covered the whole Taita Taveta county and product availability was good.
