Part 3

…. We had two classes and each class had 25 students. In the class we were arranged according to performance, that’s number one and two sit together so in pairs . The desks could accommodate two people.

The first exam I did ranked me number nine so I had to sit together with number ten. I can’t say bad or good but my partner was a girl. I enjoyed the companion for a month then position changed and we were located differently. Change of positions was a motivational aspect. This needs to be introduced in all schools.

Noting that I was to take matatu early morning to school to meet the reporting time. My mother had to wake up earlier than me to prepare tea and packed lunch. Thanks so much for your efforts. This are unpayable efforts you can’t repay. So I had to carry packed food daily, with my red hot pot. Red is my favourite colour. In the school we were offered porridge but not all students It was nursery children and class eight pupils. I enjoyed the porridge. Thanks for the arrangement of the porridge, headteacher madam mwaura that time.

Let’s get the story of the morning and evening matatu. There were two matatus which I was lucky to find at stage KYR AND LUKUNDO BEST. The conductors were really supportive to make sure I get in school on time without delay. Sometimes they extended a deep heart by not changing fare when the business was good but I forgo the sit. Then here is where I started getting pocket money. I had to teach myself how to save and create savings for emergency.

I completed my studies well in Mwatunge primary school earned good points to be admitted in high school. I was admitted in the same Mwatate Sub county a school by name Kenyatta high school.
